First of all the location is beautiful, both the building and the gardens/terrace. The art galleries are stunning spaces and it's definitely worth exploring the art, I particularly loved the stunning quilts in this current exhibition. I live close by and must have been there now at least 8 times, it's my go to place for lunch, for a drink, for supper of tapas.. and I have to say, the vodka martini's are the best I've ever had, so I go back for more. The hosts are generous , charming and intelligent, the food is fresh and everything is home made, including the focaccia, and delicious and the cakes.. well if you like cheesecake, the real deal.. have a try. I'm a bit reluctant to sing too many praises , since it's nice to get a table, but starting to book. Oh and also, you can eat a late lunch if you book a table, such a blessing in France!

This is my absolute favorite place in Sauveterre. I’ve been for lunch, evening tapas, and for coffee and desserts. I honestly just can’t stay away. Every visit feels like a homecoming, and I could sit on the terrace under the ancient wisteria all afternoon. The food is fantastic! The menu changes weekly, and is lovingly prepared with fresh, local ingredients. On our last visit, we had the hot tapas, and I think we ordered one of everything- garlic prawns, lemon chicken, pork with fennel, chorizo, and a red pepper tapenade. Each and every item was to die for, I don’t think I could even choose a favorite..oh, and the fresh baked focaccia is the perfect accompaniment. Do not skip the desserts! The cheesecake is the best I’ve ever had, and the others I’ve tried were absolute perfection- fresh, light, not too sweet. If you find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in, no matter what you order, you will leave happy.
